BOOK OF LUNA
in collaboration with Clea von Chamier-Waite.
Book of Luna is a contemporary cabinet of curiosities about mankind’s poetic adoration of the moon. Far from the static cabinets of old, it is replete with with cinematic and interactive augmentations. The Book of Luna contains an expandable topology of lunar narratives and maps, exploring some of history’s great moon-obsessed philosophers and scientists across a series of nested boxes. Using old and new technologies such as Pepper’s ghost and miniature projectors, the installation weaves together philosophy and cosmology to tell a tale of scientific passions, the nature of love, persecution, and our capacity for the sublime. In the Book of Luna, the moon becomes a poetic concept as well as a concrete place, spaces that are equally and simultaneously navigable.
